INTERNET RESOURCES (http://vlib.mmu.edu.my/iresources/)
I-RESOURCES PERPUN PROJECT
Definition
PERPUN I-Resources is a portal, which indexes, manages, and shares the selected Internet
resources available nowadays based on the subject categories determined by information
professional for each library.
I-Resources
In this I-Resources project, each library has determined the core subjects
according to the core teaching and learning specialization of the university. Based on
this, the libraries have to index and manage the Internet Resources in order to provide
accurate, beneficial and fast access to the online resources, which support the activities
of teaching and learning. The libraries are responsible to do searching at various
websites, review the content using information evaluation criteria, filter and list the
Internet Resources as well as categorize them according to library standards and manage
them in an attractive way to encourage the use of I-Resources.
How to send Internet Resources to the I-Resources Portal
Back to the common way, where Reference Librarian search and list the Internet
resources in the library homepage using the HTML format, this I-Resources portal will
facilitate the reference librarian through directly input the Internet resources to the
I-Resources using online form (Submit URL Form) that immediately can be retrieved after
been approved by the system administrator. This way can save a lot of time rather than
asking the librarys Webmaster to upload the Internet resources in HTML format to the
server.
Note:
Use the reliable browser INTERNET EXPLORER 5.0 and above.
