Attorney General's Chambers

The Attorney General's Chambers (AGC) is the office of the Attorney General of Malaysia. It started with the provenance of the Attorney General as the country's chief law officer, and later AGC was recognised as a formal government institution. In 1948, the various functions of legal advice afforded to the then colonial government were consolidated as a federal department under the provisions of the Federation of Malaya Agreement, 1948. Later in 1951, the AGC (then known as the Department of Law) was classified as a Ministry and was held responsible for all legal matters involving the Government

Kuala Lumpur Bar Committee

The Kuala Lumpur Bar was established on 1st July 1992 at a general meeting of advocates & solicitors practising in the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur held under section 68(4) of the Legal Profession Act 1976. Before that date, practitioners in Kuala Lumpur were members of the Selangor Bar, which was later called the Selangor & Federal Territory Bar on Kuala Lumpur becoming a Federal Territory in 1974.

Selangor Bar

Since the Advocates & Solicitors Ordinance 1947 the Selangor Bar has catered for all Legal Practitioners in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor making it the largest State Bar in the country.When the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur was established in 1974 the Selangor Bar continued to cater for members practicing in the Federal Territory.

Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM)

The library was first set up in 1960 under the Rural and Industrial Development Authority (RIDA) in Petaling Jaya. In 1972 a new main library building was completed in Shah Alam and named Perpustakaan Tun Abdul Razak 1. To date the library collections totaled more than 600,500 volumes comprising books, pamphlets, conference papers, bibliographies, calendars and other non-print materials in microform format. The library also holds about 5,000 periodical titles currently subscribed or received through request/donations. A number of more 50 online databases are subscribed from various journals.

Pelbagai gelaran jawatan telah diguna pakai sejak 1934, dikenali pada asalnya sebagai Malayan Establishment Officer (1934), Federation Establishment Officer (1 Julai 1954), Federal Establishment Officer (1959) Principal Establishment Officer (1 Julai 1967), Malayan Establishment Director (1968), Malaysian Establishment Director (1968) dan Ketua Pengarah Perkhidmatan Awam (15 Ogos 1968 - kini).

Judicial & Legal Training Institute (ILKAP)

Institut Latihan Kehakiman dan Perundangan atau nama ringkasnya ILKAP telah ditubuhkan pada 23 Disember 1993 hasil daripada satu kertas kabinet. Jemaah Menteri telah memutuskan supaya ILKAP diletakkan di bawah Jabatan Perdana Menteri.

Bahagian Hal Ehwal Undang-Undang

Bahagian Hal Ehwal Undang-Undang, Jabatan Perdana Menteri (BHEUU) telah ditubuhkan pada 8 Mei 1995 selepas pembubaran Kementerian Undang-Undang Malaysia. Pada waktu itu, Bahagian ini terdiri daripada Pejabat Ketua Pendaftar Mahkamah Persekutuan (PKPMP), Biro Bantuan Guaman, Jabatan Pemegang Harta, dan Jabatan Pemegang Amanah dan Pentadbir Pusaka. Walau bagaimanapun, mulai 1 Ogos 1995, Jabatan Pemegang Amanah dan Pentadbir Pusaka telah diperbadankan dan dikenali sebagai Amanah Raya Berhad. Susulan itu, keseluruhan pentadbiran agensi berkenaan telah terkeluar dari BHEUU melainkan perkara-perkara berkaitan pewartaan para pegawai Amanah Raya bagi tujuan kehadiran di mahkamah.

Biro Bantuan Guaman

Jabatan Bantuan Guaman telah ditubuhkan pada September 1970 dengan objektif utamanya untuk memberikan bantuan guaman dan khidmat nasihat kepada golongan yang kurang berkemampuan. Kini,fungsi Jabatan Bantuan Guaman adalah seperti yang berikut : Memberikan khidmat nasihat guaman dalam semua perkara undang-undang (Jadual Keempat) Mewakili atau memberikan bantuan guaman dalam prosiding di semua mahkamah dalam bidang kuasa yang diperuntukkan dalam Jadual Kedua (bidang kuasa jenayah) dan Jadual Ketiga (bidang kuasa sivil) Akta Bantuan Guaman 1971 Memberikan khidmat pengantaraan Memberikan kesedaran undang-undang kepada masyarakat tentang hak mereka di bawah undang-undang
