ONLINE DATABASE ACCESS

All active registered library users may access to our online resources using our Library Proxy Services:

Open Athens: https://my.openathens.net/?entityID=https://idp.mmu.edu.my/openathens

EZProxy: https://proxyvlib.mmu.edu.my

Access to the licensed resources provided by the Siti Hasmah Digital Library is established by MMU IP address or authentication via SHDL’s OpenAthens & EZProxy.

Current SHDL members:

  • If you are on-campus with an MMU IP address or network, you can go directly to most resources and the publisher will recognise your IP address.
  • If you are on-campus and on the “MMU Guest” network, you will not be able to access most resources due to publisher restrictions. Login to the SHDL’s OpenAthens or EZProxy and most resources will recognise your IP address.

Visitors:

To access most licensed resources, you must be on campus to:

  • Use one of the library computers provided.
  • Connect to the MMU network through a wired network jack.

The library provides Online Databases and Journals, Online Books, Past Year Exam Papers, Final Year Project (FYP Collections), MMU Digital Theses Online, as well as the MMU MBA Theses Full Text.

Library guide is available under the HELP section at the library portal. On top of that, the library provides online database training throughout the year. Do consult with our reference librarian for more information.

The library is equipped with wireless internet connection. You can bring along your laptop into the library.

In order for publishers to recognise you as an authorised MMU user, you must have an MMU IP address or be coming through our proxy server. If you are on an MMU wireless network, make sure you are logged in via SHDL’s OpenAthens or EZProxy.

Even though SHDL may have a subscription to online journals/databases, it does not mean that we have access to all issues. Check the coverage dates for the journal via Search A to Z search bar at the main library portal. If we do not own it, you may request the article via Document Delivery Services (only applicable for staff and PG students). If the coverage dates say we should have it but you cannot get it, let us know via libdesk@mmu.edu.my.

Only current members of the MMU community may access our electronic resources from off-campus. This is due to publishers and content providers imposing restrictions which prevent us from offering off-campus access to anyone outside the MMU community.

Alumni may register to become our alumni members and access many of these resources.
