PENALTY
A penalty will be imposed to the library members who breach the Library rules and regulations

DISCIPLINARY ACTION
Entering the library premises without valid staff/student ID
Patron will be warned, and if the same offence occurs for 3 times, he/she will be barred from entering the library for a month, and his/her account will be suspended
Library membership privileges are not transferable. It is serious offence for those who are using the other users card for any of library transactions.
Smart card, when lost, must be reported immediately to the Security Office and Customer Services Counter. The Library will not be responsible for loans made via the Self-Check Out Systems.
Vandalism (Tearing, cutting, scribbling, tempering of library assets, remove any library furniture and equipment from its original place)
Suspended from loan privilege for one semester and subjected to the university disciplinary board actions.
Stealing of library materials and assets
Suspended from loan privilege for one semester and subjected to the university disciplinary board actions.
Hacking/ Vast downloading activities (OPAC, Digital Library System, Document Imaging System, Online Databases, Online Journals, Library Homepage, other Library electronic contents. Accessing undesirable Internet sites and downloading, chatting, email, printing and circulating undesirable materials are strictly prohibited.
Suspended from loan privilege for one semester and subjected to the university disciplinary board actions.
Not adhere to the copyright, photocopying laws, rules and regulations.

Using mobile phone in the library

Smoking, food and drinks are not allowed in the library.

Users of the library should be appropriately attired as stated in University Rules and Regulations.
Bags, helmets, umbrellas, rain coats and packages are not permitted to be brought in to the library except for handbags (20cm x 10cm) , laptop bag (with laptop inside) and files. It must be left in the pigeon holes or lockers provided in front of the library at the user’s own risk
Reservation of a seat is not permitted. Other users have the right to have the seat if it is left vacant for more than 15 minutes.

Installing or using own extension wire plug are strictly prohibited as to ensure the safety of user’s life , library assets and equipments, users who being caught using own extension wire plug will be fined. Reminder : Power plug point are for charging laptop only

When a member is caught for breaching the library rules and regulations, an immediate action will be taken. Members will be issued with a recall notice and all materials must be returned immediately whether it is due or not. Suspension must be served during trimester. If members are debarred at the end of one trimester, they are not allowed to borrow for a period during the following trimester. Members will face the Disciplinary Board of MMU.This policy also applies to all category members. The Library reserves the right to add, delete or amend terms and conditions in respect of the enforcement of penalty points at any time and from time to time.
