THE LIBRARY COMMITTEE

The Library Committee (LC) is established principally as a sub-committee of senate, to function on the following terms of reference:

Act as a coordination platform from faculties, centre of excellence and departments units in establishing policies, regulations and overall development of the library.
Lead the library to be at par with other university libraries in terms of technology, resources and facilities.
Prepare the library’s annual business plan, projection of income and progress report.
Establish good relations with other units/departments in the university as well as other institutions to achieve the library’s objective.

MEMBERSHIP COMPOSITION

The 1-year membership of the Committee comprises the following:

Vice President (Academic) – Chairman
Chief Librarian – Secretary
2 Senate Representatives – Appointed by the Senate
Faculty Centre Representatives
Institute for Postgraduate Studies (IPS) representative
Finance Representative

Should there be any vacant due to resignation, termination of service, incapable or death, the vacancy must be ﬁlled by other eligible, appointed or chosen person.

The Chief of Librarian is the representative of the Library Committee (LC) and responsible to execute all the decisions made by the committee.
