LIBRARY MEMBERSHIP
You can register online by filling up the membership available at the library portal. Library membership is needed to borrow books, access e-resources, and use our facilities. New students must attend a Library Literacy Class before their membership is activated. Join the class online via the links below:

Please report it immediately to both the Library and MMU Security Department to avoid any misuse. Lost cards that are later found can only be reused by the owner with proper identification.
BORROWING, RETURNS & FINES
The number of books varies depending on the USER CATEGORY.

Fines will be accrued from the actual day the item is overdue. No grace period is provided. Exception is given to post-graduate students, distance education, where there is a seven-day grace period. A grace period is an amnesty period, not an additional loan period.
Fines imposed are varies depending on the USER CATEGORY and ITEM TYPE.

Yes! You’re welcome to return borrowed books to any MMU library branch. Just notify the staff during the return.
Users are fully responsible for all items on loan. If an item is lost, please report it immediately. You may:
- Replace the item with the same or latest edition and pay a processing fee of RM20 per item, plus any overdue fines, or
- Request the library to replace it, in which case you will be charged:
- – Twice the market value of the item
- – RM20 processing fee per item
- – Any overdue fines incurred before the loss was reported
⚠️ Please note that no refunds will be issued if the item is recovered after payment is made.

This service enables users to request books that are not available in MMU Library’s collection from other institutions. Inter library Loan requests can be requested via the online form at the library portal.

Any applicable fees for Interlibrary Loan (ILL) services shall be borne by the requesting user. This includes service charges, overdue fines, and replacement costs for lost items. Charges are subject to the policies and rates set by the supplying (lending) library.
Renewal of Interlibrary Loan materials is subject to the approval of the supplying library. Users are advised to submit their renewal requests in advance by contacting MMU library officers via email;Â libdesk@mmu.edu.my
This refers to the borrowing of items located at a different MMU campus. Intra Library Loan requests can be made at the library portal.

Yes, intralibrary loan items can be renewed up to three (3) times via the Elite system or by contacting the Customer Experience Department. Online renewals are only permitted under the following conditions:
- The item is not overdue
- There are no outstanding fines on your account
- The item has not been reserved by another user

LIBRARY COLLECTIONS
Library materials can be searched via the Elite sOPAC system. Simply enter the title or subject of interest and refer to the holding information for shelf location based on the Library of Congress Classification Scheme.

Red-Spot materials include textbooks and reference books.
Students: 1 item for 2 hours (renewable upon request); overnight loans permitted from 9.00 PM, to be returned by 10.00 AM
Academic staff: 2 items for 2 days (must request via Customer Experience librarian)
Selection of library materials is primarily done by faculty members. Student recommendations may be submitted and will be forwarded to the relevant faculty for consideration.
The library welcomes donations that align with its collection development policies. Â Kindly contact the Customer Experience Department for further guidance.

ONLINE RESOURCES AND DATABASES
The library provides access to Online Databases and Journals, Online Books, Past Year Exam Papers, Final Year Project (FYP Collections), MMU Digital Theses Online, as well as the MMU MBA Theses Full Text.
Please be advised that access to our online resources is restricted exclusively to active students and staff members of Multimedia University (MMU), both on and off campus. This restriction is due to policies established by our publishers and content providers, which preclude us from extending access to individuals who are not affiliated with MMU. Library users may access to our online resources using our Library Proxy Services:

Access to the licensed resources provided by the MMU Library is established by MMU IP address or authentication via Library’s OpenAthens as follows:
- – If you are on-campus with an MMU IP address or network, you can go directly to most resources and the publisher will recognise your IP address.
- – If you are on-campus and on the “MMU Guest” network, you will not be able to access most resources due to publisher restrictions. Login to the Library’s OpenAthens and most resources will recognise your IP address.
In order for publishers to recognise you as an authorised MMU user, you must have an MMU IP address or be coming through our proxy server. If you are on an MMU wireless network, make sure you are logged in via Library’s OpenAthens.
Even though MMU Library may have a subscription to online journals/databases, it does not mean that we have access to all issues. Check the coverage dates for the journal from the Publication Finder at our MULiA 3.0 search bar at the main library portal.
