• All MMU special needs students and staff are eligible for these services.
• Non-MMU users (PERPUN Members) will receive the same services as MMU affiliates upon request.
• Visitors are encouraged to contact SHDL Disability Service Coordinator to arrange their needs ahead of their visit.

Special Area

SHDL provides a designated area for the SNU near the Customer Experience counter. With a library staff nearby, it is easy for them to get assistance from the library staff.

Special Toilets

Special toilets are provided for SNU  at every level of the Main Library for their convenience.

Special toilets locations on campus:

* Melaka

Book Valet

  • Our library staff are available and happy to assist SNU, especially in finding and retrieving books from the shelves.
  • SNU can submit the request online through the ‘Find Me a Book‘ form.

Lift Access (MMU Melaka Library)

SHDL also provides a lift to access all collections and study areas at all levels of the library.  This service enables SNU to browse the printed collection at every level of the Melaka Main library and study with their friends.

Study Carrel

In the library, the study carrels and computer tables are designed for wheelchair accessibility. Users may ask for assistance at the library counter.

Assistive Software & Apps

  • Suggested Reading Apps free for download by blind and visually impaired users

    Text to Speech feature

    Some of the research articles are provided in the HTML format which allows the Text to Speech feature. This would help the blind or visually impaired to get information for their assignment and research works.

WP Accessibility Helper

SHDL strives to make the digital library contents accessible for people with disabilities. Thus, our main library portal is equipped with an Accessibility Helper Sidebar in which to help our user easily perceive, understand, and navigate.
